Yes.
Prices vary with area, breed of dog and company. Just do a search on dog health insurance.
Go to the http://www.akc.org website and look up dog insurance. The AKC vip has the best coverage at the best price.
There is pet health insurance for dogs. Currently there are around a dozen pet insurance companies in the US, many of them offering different coverage and prices (and also limitations and exclusions) so be sure to do thorough research before deciding on anything!
It can cost anywhere between $20 - over $100 per month for one dog.
Typically you want an insurance plan to cover all accidents and illnesses and hereditary conditions. Keep in mind that no pet insurance company will cover preexisting conditions, so if your pet has cancer or allergies, etc. then no pet insurance company will pay for any bills related to those.
Some pet insurance companies offer coverage for checkups and vaccines, but you are paying a lot extra each month for this "routine coverage" and you typically will save the most money if you plan for these expenses yourself.
Pet insurance is great for the unexpected though! You never know if your dog might swallow a foreign object or get sick or hurt and bring home a giant vet bill!
Personally, I’d recommend Trupanion which is what I have for my dog. Here’s a good comparison site:
